Words From Letecia Simmons:
First I made the decision to join a Greek organization. Then I saw the flyer for Theta Nu Xi.
Then I made one of the most paramount decisions of my life. I decided to Join Theta Nu Xi
Multicultural Sorority INC and Found Zeta Chapter.
I think back on where my mind was when Becky and I were planning event after event and interest meetings
and shaping our chapter. I see now that I was completely in the moment, because I truly didn’t realize what we
were creating until I attended Georgia State first home coming October 2010. I was privileged to meet all the
extraordinary, ambitious and strong women that are current members and alum of the Zeta Chapter.
It was a breath taking experience for me.
Quality has always been a focus for Zeta Chapter and it was clear when I met all my wonderful sisters that
Zeta Chapters focus is still quality over quantity. When I met all the beautiful women of Zeta, I was calm, proud and
full of smiles. Our decision to focus on quality helped create a strong foundation. The growth the Zeta Chapter has
made over the last 10 years is definitely
to be commended. Through all the negativity, through the pain, through
being the first chapter in the South East, far away from other sisters, Zeta still flourished into what she is today.
She still thrives, standing on that foundation of quality.

Ten Years Stronger
It happened 10 years ago. I was in the new Student Center (when it was actually new!) and saw it.
I saw the recruitment flyer that was going to impact my life in so many positive ways. Then, I met Leticia and the rest is history.
To this day, it’s still somewhat surreal to know that the groundwork that Leticia and I laid as chapter founders has turned
into a real, well oiled machine known as Zeta Chapter. Two years after joining Theta Nu Xi, I graduated from Georgia State University.
Graduation was bittersweet for me. It was sweet, because I was moving on with the rest of my life. It was also bitter because
I was leaving my baby, Zeta, in the hands of other sisters.
Zeta, however, has had exceptional women driving it to be the strong chapter that it has become. I’m so very proud of the numerous accomplishments the Zeta Chapter has received both within the National Organization and at Georgia State University. What Leticia and I had envisioned for the Chapter actually came true through the hard work and dedication of my sisters.
I want to sincerely thank past, present and future sisters for putting their love, passion and support into Theta Nu Xi and the Zeta Chapter. I’m looking forward to seeing continued success ten years from now, ten years after that and so on and on!
